Delegated Funds

Walton Charity Delegated Funds are allocated to local organisations who work directly with people and families in Elmbridge on low incomes, particularly during times of crisis or financial hardship. They can be used flexibly by organisations to tackle both the immediate symptoms of poverty but also to help individuals and families find a route out of poverty.

We also offer Opportunities Funds to local schools to support pupils from low income families with school uniforms, equipment, extra-curricular activities and contributions towards school trips

Examples of how our Delegated funds have been used include:

  • Gift cards for fresh food (supplementing food parcels from the Foodbank)

  • Transport costs (including bikes) for people to get to night shelters or to attend interviews

  • Specialist one-off holiday provision for a boy with autism

  • School uniforms and shoes when the school the children attended did not hold an Opportunities Fund

  • A debt relief order for a family supported by Citizen Advice

  • Support of clients from the Criminal Liaison and Diversion Service

  • Supporting refugees new to Elmbridge with the cost of transport to ESOL courses

The Walton Charity Delegated Fund remains an invaluable resource for helping clients who are experiencing hardship and will be even more invaluable in this time of financial uncertainty for a lot of people.
